The Arts Are the heart of our Nelson County community with local artists on display throughout our businesses and the beloved live performances that attract locals and tourists alike. Through community exploration in the arts, students are able to find The Arts & Communication collab opens opportunities to participate in and create powerful experiences within the arts of Nelson County.
ARTS COLLAB EXPERIENCES
Students will explore a variety of opportunities within the arts, including music, performing arts, and visual arts through this collab experience.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Students connect people and places in our community that specialize in the arts, including the Stephen Foster Story Amphitheater.
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCES
Students will develop authentic arts and communication skills through an internship experience, specialized to the students’ unique gifts.
ONE-ON-ONE GIFT EXCAVATION
Students will have the opportunity to receive free, individualized private lessons within the arts pathway of the student’s choosing.
STUDENT NRGIZERS
Students in this collab will participate in the Student NRGizers organization, focused on using design and the arts, to share their story and the story of Nelson County with the world.
DUAL CREDIT AND EARLY COLLEGE
STUDENT SCHEDULE
Students will spend the morning at their home schools. The Arts Collab will be in the afternoon at community partner locations. Students will be transported from their home schools to the theater and will end their day back at the home school for transportation home or for after school events. The Arts Collab will be open to students grades 6-12.
CREDENTIALING & EARLY COLLEGE
Students may select to enroll in the Associate in Arts (AA) Degree Pathway with Elizabethtown Community & Technical College. This option allows students the opportunity to complete an AA degree upon graduation from high school. Alternatively, student may select to apply these credits to a variety of general education courses that align with most in-state colleges or universities.
BOLDED COURSES EARN DUAL CREDIT THROUGH ELIZABETHTOWN COMMUNITY & TECHNICAL COLLEGE.
