MARKETING PRINCIPLES
Marketing Principles teaches students how businesses attract customers, build brands, and increase sales. Students learn key marketing concepts like product design, pricing, promotion, and distribution while developing real-world skills in communication, customer service, and ethical decision-making. Using current technology and hands-on projects, students solve real business problems and build leadership skills through FBLA, preparing them for careers in marketing, business, and entrepreneurship.

SPORTS + EVENT MARKETING
Sports & Event Marketing focuses on how teams, leagues, and major events attract fans, sell tickets, and build powerful brands. Students analyze how organizations such as professional and collegiate sports teams, tournaments, and live events use promotions, social media, sponsorships, and pricing strategies to drive attendance and revenue. Through real-world scenarios, ethical decision-making, and hands-on projects, students explore careers in the sports and event industry while developing leadership skills through FBLA.

MARKETING APPLICATIONS*
Marketing Applications puts marketing into action by having students create, test, and improve real marketing plans. Students work with pricing strategies, product life cycles, and promotional tools such as social media, advertising, and sales promotions to solve real business challenges. Through technology-based projects, teamwork, and problem-solving scenarios, students build strong communication and leadership skills while exploring marketing careers through FBLA.

RETAIL MARKETING MANAGEMENT
Retail Marketing Management focuses on how retail businesses are managed day-to-day, from inventory and merchandising to pricing, promotion, and customer experience. Students develop management and leadership skills by exploring operations, selling strategies, distribution, and product management used in both in-store and online retail environments. Through hands-on projects and real business scenarios, students practice decision-making, communication, and professional skills while building leadership experience through FBLA.

FINANCIAL LITERACY*
Financial Literacy equips students with the skills needed to make smart money decisions that support long-term financial success. Students learn how to budget, save, invest, use credit wisely, manage debt, understand insurance, and navigate taxes using real-world examples and financial documents. Through practical activities and real-life scenarios, students build confidence in managing their personal finances while developing responsibility, critical thinking, and leadership skills through FBLA.

BAS 160 - INTRO TO BUSINESS (ONLINE DUAL CREDIT)*
Introduction to Business introduces students to how businesses operate in the real world. Students explore core business concepts such as economics, customer service, marketing, finance, operations, and management while developing professional skills like communication, emotional intelligence, and teamwork. Through real-world scenarios, ethical decision-making, and hands-on activities, students build critical thinking and leadership skills while exploring business and marketing careers through FBLA.

PRINCIPLES OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Principles of Entrepreneurship introduces students to how new businesses are created, launched, and grown. Students generate business ideas, explore market opportunities, and develop start-up plans while learning how marketing, pricing, promotion, and distribution drive success. Through market research, SWOT and competitive analysis, sales forecasting, and budgeting, students build and present a complete marketing plan for their own business idea. Real-world problem solving, ethical decision-making, and leadership development are emphasized through FBLA.

PRINCIPLES OF HOSPITALITY
Principles of Hospitality introduces students to business and marketing careers in the hospitality industry, including travel and tourism, hotels, restaurants, and recreation. Students explore how hospitality businesses deliver quality service through communication, operations, marketing, selling, and customer experience management. Using real-world scenarios and hands-on activities, students develop professional skills and leadership experience while exploring hospitality careers through FBLA.

THE GENERAL STORE
The General Store is a hands-on, school-based enterprise where students operate and manage a real retail business on campus. Students apply skills in merchandising, inventory management, pricing, marketing, customer service, and daily operations while making real business decisions that impact profit and performance. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making, students gain authentic work experience and leadership skills while preparing for careers in retail, business management, and entrepreneurship through FBLA.

*Prerequisites: Must have completed one business course. Application & interview required.
BUSINESS + MARKETING EDUCATION CO-OP
Cooperative Education for CTE courses provide supervised work site experience related to the student's identified career pathway. A student must be enrolled in an approved capstone course during the same school year that the co-op experience is completed. Students who participate receive a salary for these experiences, in accordance with local, state and federal minimum wage requirements according to the Work Based Learning Guide.

HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT
Nelson County Schools, in partnership with Elizabethtown Community & Technical College, will be offering courses aligned to the Associates of Applied Science in Food & Beverage Management. This pathway will be available to junior and senior level students with courses being offered on the ECTC campus.
