KYA / KUNA
KYA - NOV & DEC | KUNA - MARCH
Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) & Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA) are statewide leadership conferences hosted by the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association that give students hands-on experience in government, diplomacy, public speaking, and civic engagement through immersive, student-led government simulations.
Meetings are held throughout the year!
ACADEMIC TEAM
OCT. - MARCH
Put your knowledge to the test! The Academic Team competes in a variety of academic competitions throughout the school year, challenging students in quick recall and content knowledge across multiple subjects. The season runs from October through March, with opportunities to qualify for state competition.
Tryouts and a minimum 3.0 GPA are required.
BETA CLUB
AUGUST - MARCH
Beta Club recognizes students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, character and a commitment to serving others. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Kentucky State Beta Convention each March, where they can compete and connect with Beta members from across the state.
Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA or receive a teacher recommendation. Members pay a one-time $35 registration fee and must complete 10 hours of community service each year to remain in good standing.
NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY
New Member Induction: OCT.
Open to 11th and 12th grade students.
The National Honor Society recognizes excellence in scholarship, service, leadership and character.
Eligible juniors and seniors must meet academic requirements, demonstrate leadership, actively serve their school and community and uphold high standards of integrity and responsibility.
